Kia America achieved its best-ever October sales by moving 80,008 vehicles, a 16 percent increase over the previous October record. Retail sales also hit a record with 68,926 units sold, marking a 20 percent jump year-over-year. This marks the sixth consecutive month Kia has set new sales records.
The surge is largely driven by Kia’s growing electrified vehicle lineup, which saw sales increase by 112 percent, while hybrid sales jumped 114 percent compared to last year. These gains helped Kia set new category sales records and contributed significantly to the brand’s overall October performance.
Eight Kia models showed strong year-over-year sales growth, including the EV9 with a 111 percent increase, Telluride up 63 percent, and EV6 rising 58 percent. The Telluride, Seltos, Carnival, K4, and Sportage each recorded their best-ever October sales. Additionally, hybrid versions of the Sorento, Carnival, and Sportage posted double- and triple-digit sales increases.
What it costs and new arrivals
Kia introduced the all-new 2027 EV3, an entry-level electric SUV starting just under $30,000 MSRP for the Light FWD trim. The EV3 offers up to an EPA-estimated 321 miles of range on its Wind and Land FWD versions, targeting buyers looking for an affordable, efficient electric SUV.
For the 2027 Sorento with an internal combustion engine, the base LX trim price increased by only $200. The SUV carries over most updates from previous years, with the notable addition of a new Black Jade Green exterior color replacing Jungle Green.
What it means for you
Kia’s record sales and expanding electrified lineup mean more options for buyers interested in hybrids and electric vehicles, with competitive pricing and improved availability. The new EV3 offers an accessible entry point into electric SUVs with strong range, while popular models like the Telluride and Sportage continue to attract buyers with their best-ever sales performances.
Kia’s sustained sales momentum suggests the brand will continue to grow its presence in the U.S. Market, supported by nearly 800 dealers nationwide and a reputation for quality and sustainability.
What’s next
Kia expects its record-setting pace to continue through the fourth quarter and into 2027, driven by new model launches and ongoing demand for electrified vehicles. Buyers can look forward to the availability of the 2027 EV3 in showrooms now, along with updated versions of the Sorento and other popular SUVs.
