Unionized Stellantis workers in Canada have voted 97.3% in favor of authorizing a strike, Unifor said on Monday, Oct. 19. The vote, held Oct. 17 and 18, gives the union's bargaining committee the power to call a walkout if it decides one is needed. It does not start a strike, and talks with the maker of the Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Charger remain stalled.

The vote lets Unifor call a strike if talks fail, but the union is not yet in a legal strike position. Windsor, sole source of the Pacifica, is down for three weeks.
