Subaru of America reported a 6 percent increase in vehicle sales for October 2026 compared to the same month last year, totaling 54,090 units sold. This marks the sixth consecutive month of sales growth for the brand.

The Crosstrek led the sales chart with 16,574 vehicles sold, up 1.8 percent from October 2025. Close behind was the Forester, which saw a significant 26 percent jump to 16,094 units, marking its best-ever October sales. The Outback held third place with 13,711 sales, a 2 percent increase over the previous year.

Strong sales from performance and hybrid models

Subaru’s affordable manual-equipped BRZ and WRX models also experienced notable gains. The BRZ sales rose 30.2 percent in October, while the WRX surged 137.1 percent compared to last year and is up 55 percent year-to-date.

Subaru continues to offer a diverse lineup that includes gas, hybrid, and electric vehicles like the Trailseeker, appealing to customers looking for safety, capability, and versatility.

What it means for you

If you’re shopping for a Subaru, the strong demand for Crosstrek and Forester means these models are popular choices that combine practicality with fuel options, including hybrids and EVs. The rising interest in WRX and BRZ also highlights Subaru’s appeal to buyers seeking sporty performance with manual transmissions.

Subaru’s commitment to safety, versatility, and environmental responsibility—manufacturing in zero-landfill plants and supporting community causes—may also resonate with buyers who value sustainability alongside vehicle performance.

Looking ahead

With six months of consecutive sales growth, Subaru’s momentum is strong heading into the final months of 2026. Buyers can expect continued availability of popular models and ongoing support from a nationwide network of about 640 Subaru retailers.
